Hi Folks,
This past week I was told I need eye surgery. I am waiting for it to be scheduled. As a result, I have had to resign as the Florida League Education Chair. This blog will no longer represent the League. I am maintaining the blog for your convenience because of all the information in it. When I am able, I will add posts.
For now, you need to do nothing differently. I just wanted to let you know why not much will appear for awhile, especially once the surgery is performed.
Sue
Aren’t people nice.
My only hope is that after you recover from eye surgery you will continue as Education Chair for Florida LWV or consider national education chair for USLWV. I don’t know how we are going to keep the “reformers and privatizers at bay with out you’
Diane Ravitch is taking leave of her blog to write another book. My two mentors not standing watch when the notorious Koch brothers recently decided to target K-12 public schools. The Kochs are particularly enthusiastic about education savings accounts. Jeb Bush has called ESA’s “the driver behind school choice of the future” and the next generation of school vouchers.
For now, take care of yourself and have a miraculous recovery from surgery. Never forget how many thousands of people you have inspired with your incredible work. You are one wonderful woman. Thank you for all that you do.
Carol
I hope all goes well with your surgery & I will be looking forward to your return to this blog … & to the League.
All best wishes for a speedy recovery. You will be missed. Hurry back.
Hope all goes well! I will miss your frequent and informative posts.
Good wishes.
Quelle bummer! Can I bring you something to eat, either before or after surgery? I make some mighty fine peanut butter cookies and I do a mean meatloaf 352 335 3985.
Have to go to Johns Hopkins, but I should be OK. Hardest part is that they are working me in the scheduling for surgery, so I will have to go when they say. Can’t plan anything.
keep me on quick dial, OK?
Sue, best of luck with your surgery, know how much your faithful readers outside Florida appreciate you, including this retired Professor of Neurology who is writing a book for parents on learning differences in the context of our current crisis concerning education.
Hope your surgery goes well. I enjoy your posts.
